⛳ Brand Showdown: Which Impact Screens Stand the Test of Time?

There's nothing worse than dropping serious cash on a sim setup only to see it dirty from ball marks after a few swings. Well, we’ve done your homework for you—we rounded up real reviews so you can see which brands really live up to the hype. Dive into our guide to find the perfect screen for your sim!

Shop Indoor Golf

Budget-Friendly: Sig Preferred Raw Golf Screen Material
The Lawn Engineer reports his screen held up great after a year—no major ball dents, divots, or fraying issues. In his review, he claims, “there’s not really a memory to this thing,’ which is what every screen-owner wanted to hear! He has a teeny tiny issue with a weighted pole tearing the bottom—but we found some advice on our forum on how to avoid this!

Premium: SIG10 Enclosure with SIGPRO Premium Screen
TLDR: Garage Golf's Roland loves his SIG10. Daily use, no ball divots, and a top-notch image. The screen’s minimal flex makes it a premium choice—in his video, he shows a shot from behind the screen to show that it really is the real deal. See his video for a closer look. You can also see the quality in this side-by-side comparison that My Golf Spy did.

Carl’s Place

Budget-Friendly: Standard Impact Screen
Pixel Golf’s year-long review shows some dents that are easily patted out. Great image quality with no noticeable marks. Carl’s gets a thumbs up from Pixel golf, and from us!

Premium: Premium Impact Screen
Corey Skinner’s 3-year review reveals wear in the impact zone after 30,000 swings. Even after weekly use, the projector image is fantastic, with only a bit of rippling at the impact zone. When the image is off, there is some noticeable damage—the first layer of screen has peeled off in some areas, but Corey says that even those areas still feel quite thick. Talk about a screen that really endures it all!

Gungho Golf

We couldn’t find a “1-year video,” so we searched the forums for user thoughts. Users complain that there aren’t a ton of reviews online, so we’re rounding up the ones we found helpful.

  • u/Agnt_Michael_Scarn: “I have the eagle screen. I’ve beat the hell out of it, and it’s holding up great. After a year, it does show some wear, but I use it a ton.”

  • u/agahimer: “I’m pretty happy with the material. I have noticed some ball spots even though I use only new balls, have squeaky clean clubs, and wipe the ball every hole. It's interesting because it doesn't look like a dirty ball mark on the fabric, but the fabric has a more shiny side and it just makes the sheen of the screen different at a very specific viewing angle.”

  • U/debugprince: “I’m using the birdie screen from Gungho, and it’s been working great. It gets dents from hitting little bombs, but I can smooth it out by tugging the bottom of the screen and rubbing it with a clean hand.”

The Verdict

Do we have a winner? Shop Indoor Golf & Carl’s Place are tied—it seems like you can’t go wrong. Unsurprisingly, in the thread "Best Impact Screen Money Can Buy?" both Shop Indoor Golf and Carl’s Place were the top contenders.

Wondering which screen held up the worst? Let’s just say that AllSportsSystems got less than rave reviews on the Golf Simulator Forum:

  • “I'm already starting to wear a hole where I keep hitting the screen.”

  • “The actual screen is wearing through like someone has been rubbing sandpaper on it.”
