⛳ Need for Speed: Get Your Fastest Golf Swing Yet

Are you ready to amp up your swing speed like never before? We’ve rounded up some killer drills that promise to inject some serious mph into your drives. Whether you’re looking to refine your technique or just add some oomph, these tips will get you swinging faster and more efficiently. So, let's swing into action!

The Late Lag Drill by Clay Ballard

Ever felt like you’re just not getting enough whip in your swing? Clay Ballard’s Late Lag Drill is here to change that. Here’s the scoop:

  • Setup: Begin by swinging back until your hands are belt-high with the club parallel to the ground.

  • Action: Rotate around your chest, letting the club go wide. Then, as you shift your weight and open your body, you'll naturally create lag in the club.

  • The Release: It’s all about timing here. Release the club as your body leads, and watch as the club stays square through the shot.

The Driver Drill by 18Strong / Par4Success

Think you need fancy equipment to boost your swing speed? Think again. 18Strong says that your driver is just as effective (if not more) than any training aid you can buy. This is one is pretty darn straightforward, so no excuses!

  • Routine: Grab your driver and unleash 10 swings at maximum effort.

  • Rest: Take a breather for 2-3 minutes.

  • Repeat: Do two more sets of 10 swings, resting between each set.

Gain 10MPH Club Head Speed by Golf Science Lab

Ready to turbocharge your club head speed and beat the PGA Pro average of 114MPH? The Golf Science Lab has broken it down into a few focused movements:

  • Big Turn: Make a larger, more exaggerated rotation back. This not only gets the club head higher but also lengthens your swing.

  • Speedy Backswing: Forget slowing down to gain control; a faster backswing creates a slingshot effect, launching your swing into high gear.

  • Breathing: Pump yourself up with 10 quick breaths and rapid blinking. This gets your heart racing and muscles primed so you can let it rip.

Which drill are you trying out? Or better yet, how are YOU gaining speed in your swing these days?? Let us know in the comments! 👇
